Partners and Supporters

We are proud and honored to have the support and partnership of the following organizations:

Microsoft Research is dedicated to conducting both basic and applied research in computer science and software engineering. Its goals are to enhance the user experience on computing devices, reduce the cost of writing and maintaining software, and invent novel computing technologies. Microsoft Research also collaborates openly with colleges and universities—and now PopTech—to advance the positive impact of science in our communities.
The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation‘s mission is to improve the quality of people’s lives through grants supporting the performing arts, environmental conservation, medical research and the prevention of child abuse, and through preservation of the cultural and environmental legacy of Doris Duke’s properties. The foundation’s Medical Research Program supports the PopTech Science Fellows Program as part of its ongoing efforts to support the career development of physician-scientists.
The National Geographic Society is one of the world’s largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations. Founded in 1888 to “increase and diffuse geographic knowledge,” the Society works to inspire people to care about the planet. It reaches more than 325 million people worldwide each month through its print, broadcast, online and other media channels. National Geographic supports scientific research, conservation and exploration projects and an education program combating geographic illiteracy.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency that supports fundamental research and education across all fields of science and engineering. In fiscal year 2010, its budget is about $6.9 billion. NSF funds reach all 50 states through grants to nearly 2,000 universities and institutions. NSF is pleased to support PopTech’s programs as part of its efforts to advance the frontiers of knowledge, cultivate a world-class science and engineering workforce and expand the scientific literacy of all citizens.
The Rita Allen Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey, helps scholars throughout the world unlock the mysteries of science. Emphasizing medical research and treatments, the foundation encourages innovation and risk-taking, promotes leadership and collaboration, and supports groundbreaking discoveries. The Rita Allen Foundation embraces outstanding scientists in the early stages of their careers in the fields of cancer, neuroscience and immunology, and other educational pursuits, and is proud to partner with PopTech to advance cutting-edge ideas and solutions.
